Bensiden 10mg (Doxepin Hydrochloride)

Bensiden 10mg contains Doxepin Hydrochloride, a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) with significant sedative and anxiolytic properties. It acts by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine and has strong antihistamine activity, contributing to its sleep-promoting effects.

Dosage & Administration One tablet (10mg) taken orally, once daily in the evening. For insomnia, typically taken 30 minutes before bedtime. Dosage may be adjusted by a physician.

Indications Depression, anxiety disorders, and insomnia. Particularly effective in patients with co-existing anxiety and depressive symptoms.

Contraindications Not suitable for patients with glaucoma, urinary retention, severe cardiac disease, or those taking MAO inhibitors. Use with caution in elderly patients.

Side Effects May include sedation, dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, and orthostatic hypotension. Abrupt discontinuation should be avoided.
